In the summer of 1909, T.E. Lawrence set out on a three-month walking tour of crusader castles in Ottoman Syria. The result was his thesis for his finals at Jesus College, Oxford - for which he got a First. This edition of the thesis - which became 'Crusader Castles' - is complete with maps, plans and photographs.
