In 1814, the sixteen year-old Mary Shelley eloped with the married twenty-two-year-old Percy Bysshe Shelley - along with Mary's sixteen-year-old cousin, Claire Clairmont. This illustrated edition is the account, written two years later, of their six weeks travelling, with little money, through war-torn France.
